Holiday Charity Drives

Holiday Charity Drives

The Holiday Season should be filled with joy and wonder. However, with our current economy there are many South Jersey families struggling just to live day to day. You can make a difference by participating in various Holiday Charity Drives to help bring some happiness to people in your community that you don’t even know need the help.

Contribute to a Food Drive

November is the month when the Holiday Spirit really spreads, and holiday planning begins to eat up calendar space. This year just like last year looks much different than seasons past. As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to linger along with it the uncertainty it creates, one thing remains the same: The joy that comes from spreading holiday cheer by helping our neighbors in need.

This year, about 800,000 people in New Jersey face hunger every day. 200,000 of them are children, that’s roughly 1 in 10 children. Additionally, children in South Jersey counties such as Atlantic, Cape May, and Cumberland were almost twice more likely to experience hunger than the rest of the state, with 1 in 6 children vulnerable to hunger.

At Gentilini Ford we have taken steps in an effort to help these children by teaming up with The Community Foodbank of New Jersey Southern Branch and hosting a Food Drive right here at our dealership. Now through December 13, drop your donations in any of the boxes located in our Showrooms & Service Areas, and we will deliver them to those who need it most this holiday season.

How can you help people facing food insecurity? Donate food or money to a food bank.

Every $1 donated helps Community Food Bank of New Jersey provide three meals to individuals struggling with food insecurity. Financial gifts of any amount fuel their signature programs such that allow them to reach more people in more places across Southern New Jersey. As you reflect back on 2022 and look ahead to 2023, consider taking a moment to do good in your community and ensure that everyone has enough to eat throughout the holidays and beyond by donating today.

Contribute to a Coat Drive

With the holiday season comes the colder weather. Many people right here in South Jersey do not have proper attire needed to keep warm this winter.

At Gentilini Ford we are doing what we can to help those in need in our surrounding communities by teaming up with local organizations that accept and distribute coats on behalf of Coats For Kids. Drop your donations in any of the boxes located in our Showrooms & Service Areas, and we will deliver them to those who need it most this winter.

Contribute to a Toy Drive

This time of year is full of wonder, imagination, and the hope of new toys for most children. Many South Jersey families have had to shift priorities especially with the current state of the global economy and uncertainty it brings. Alarmingly, approximately 15 million American children live in poverty. Studies reveal that growing up in poverty can have an adverse psychological impact on a child. One of the adverse impacts is low self-esteem, a by-product of little or no hope for the future.

The new toy which millions of needy children receive each Christmas from Marines, through the Toys for Tots Program, delivers a message of hope. By being excellent role models and setting an example for others to emulate, Marines, through Toys for Tots, perform passive mentoring. Economically disadvantaged children who receive toys through the Toys for Tots program have an opportunity to observe first-hand how young men and women, just like themselves, have achieved success.

At Gentilini Ford we are doing our part to assist our local Toys For Tots branch by partnering with them as a drop off location. In 2021 our local Toys For Tots branch supported 3,248 local children and distributed 18,036 toys!

Drop your donations in any of the boxes located in our Showrooms & Service Areas, and we will deliver them to those who need it most this winter.

Volunteer Your Time

If means are limited this year and you’re unable to donate money, consider volunteering with our local charitable organizations. With the increased need for food, coats, clothing, shelter, and toys in our community, your support is invaluable.

Here at Gentilini Ford, the holidays are about gratitude, and we could not be more grateful for your support. Thank you for participating in our holiday charity drives, nourishing our community, and ensuring everyone has access to nutritious food for themselves and their loved ones. We could not do this work without you.

Ford Electric Vehicles

The green revolution is sweeping nearly every industry, and the automotive industry is no exception. In an effort to reduce emissions and minimize drivers’ carbon footprints, many automobile manufacturers began with gas/electric hybrid vehicles. According to the International Council on Clean Transportation the electric vehicle market in the United States has grown from a few thousand vehicles in 2010 to more than 315,000 vehicles sold annually from 2018 to 2020 which makes up about 2.5% of new vehicle sales.

Ford has had its share of models that included the C-Max Hybrid, Fusion Hybrid, Escape Hybrid, as well as an all-electric plug-in vehicle, the Ford Focus Electric. Ford slowly introduced these products into the vehicle market and, thus, they were a bit difficult for drivers to get their hands on. Ford made a promise to expand on the number of Ford dealers selling these models as well as leading innovation in the electric vehicle field. Well that future is here and now!

Ford is bringing electric vehicles at scale to American customers with two new massive, environmentally and technologically advanced campuses in Tennessee and Kentucky that will produce the next generation of Ford electric vehicles, and expects 40% to 50% of its global vehicle volume to be All Electric by 2030.

This past year Ford has released an Escape Hybrid Plug-in just before launching their first All Electric vehicle, the Mustang Mach-E which has taken the market space by storm. A short time later Ford jumped back into the small pick-up truck segment by releasing the Maverick with a Hybrid option. You can even get an Explorer along with an F-150 in a Hybrid model. The next big move this past year was the release of the F-150 Lightning and E-Transit Van which are both All Electric and expected to be hitting ground this year!

At Gentilini Ford we are taking environmental responsibility seriously, and have taken steps to ensure that we are your go to local South Jersey Ford Electric Vehicles dealer. We operate a large portion of our dealership with a 238 kW solar array, are equipped with two electric vehicle charging stations with the plans to add more, and have put all of our staff through extensive training on everything electric vehicle related. Give us a call at (609) 861-0100 or take the short drive to sit with an Electric Vehicles specialist today!

Gentilini Ford Warriors In Pink

Today, National Breast Cancer Awareness Month is about more than awareness of the disease – it is about making people aware of the challenges that remain, it is about removing barriers to care for the people it affects, it is about reducing the disparities that exist across races, genders and ethnicities, and it is about reminding people that one in eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime.

According to the Susan G. Komen organization about every 2 minutes, 1 case of breast cancer is diagnosed in the U.S. In 2023, more than 297,000 new cases of invasive breast cancer are expected to be diagnosed in women in the U.S. and 2,800 cases in men. In 2023, nearly 44,000 women and men in the U.S. are expected to die from breast cancer. Since Komen’s inception in 1982, it has provided more than $1 billion in funding for researchers working to end this disease. Through research grants, scientists have been able to better understand breast cancer and develop better treatments. As a result, more lives are being saved. But there is still work to be done to save lives, and help people live better lives, longer.

At Gentilini Ford we’re proud to announce the launch of our Warriors In Pink Sales Event to help bring awareness and raise money for Breast Cancer. With this campaign we will make social media posts throughout the month honoring customers and Breast Cancer victims/survivors using #WarriorsInPink and #MoreGoodDays to bring awareness. We will also make a donation for every new and used vehicle sold or leased in October to help raise money for Breast Cancer research. Customers can take advantage of the best deals with real value and no empty promises at Gentilini Ford!

We hope that with our help and the help of customers getting their new vehicles from us that one day a cure can be found for this deadly disease that has affected so many families right here in our own communities. If you are in the market for a new or used vehicle then give us a call or stop by today to see what we have to offer. Not only will you get a great deal on America’s best selling brand, but you can also feel good knowing that your purchase with us is making a difference in the fight to end Breast Cancer.

First up is perhaps the most obvious thing to do in New Jersey during the summer—hit the beach. Whether you’re going to Ocean City, Wildwood, Sea Isle, Long Beach Island, or one of the many other Jersey Shore Points, your family is sure to have a great time relaxing in the sun. Each shore point has much to offer and makes for a great getaway.

Six Flags

Sixs Flags Great Adventure theme park is located in Jackson, N.J., and is home to some of the world’s best roller coasters and amusement park rides. El Toro, Nitro and Kingda Ka are great roller coasters for those seeking thrills, while Congo Rapids, Safari Off Road Adventure, and Saw Mill Log Flume provide great ride options for the whole family. Not to mention, Six Flags’ numerous events, concerts, shows and dining venues give you plenty of fun things to do during your visit.

Downtown Jersey City

Catch a beautiful view of the New York City skyline while remaining on the New Jersey side of the Hudson River. You can sit on benches along the Jersey City waterfront and see all of Manhattan. You can also take a train or ferry over to NYC if you’d like. Downtown Jersey City also has a great night life with a multitude of bars and restaurants to choose from.

Atlantic City Boardwalk

While Atlantic City is also one of the Jersey Shore Points, it has more to offer visitors than just the beach. The AC boardwalk is world renowned because of its attractions and casinos. Choose from a variety of dining, gambling and entertainment options while on the boardwalk in AC.

Kayaking South Jersey Waterways

Discover The Best Kayaking Launch Sites, Rivers, Lakes and Bays, Rentals, and Group Tours in New Jersey. Kayaking in NJ offers a wide variety of scenic and wildlife experiences, with a range of water from easy flat water to the more intermediate, challenging rivers and beach areas. Some of the most recommended places to go are Pinelands Adventures in Shamong, Mick’s Pine Barrens in Chatsworth, Harbor Outfitters in Ocean City, Al & Sam’s in Newfield, and Aqua Trails in Cape May. All in all, kayaking in NJ can be a fantastic recreational activity. From rapid rivers to magnificent lakes and breathtaking canals, New Jersey has an excellent mix of locations fit for everyone.

Tree To Tree Cape May

Located right in the Cape May County Park & Zoo, Cape May Tree to Tree Adventure Park offers aerial adventure courses! Each adventure activity is set in an obstacle course, high up in the trees. Tree to Tree Adventure Courses have different progressive difficulty levels to keep you on your toes and in the tree tops. Each Adventure course has a series of unique obstacle elements such as ladders, tight ropes, balance beams, and wobbly bridges for you to conquer. There are over 100 aerial adventure activities divided into color-coded courses for kids, youth and adults so it’s fun for the whole family.

Hiking New Jersey’s Trails

South Jersey is often overlooked as a hiking destination but it offers unique and interesting hikes that every Jersey hiker should check out. The south is dominated by the “Pine Barrens” – over one million acres – so trails are usually easy, level, soft, sandy, and covered in pine needles as opposed to the hilly, rock-filled northern trails. Some of the best hikes in New Jersey included Belleplain State Forest, Wells Mills County Park, William B Forsythe Wildlife Refuge, Atsion to Quaker Bridge Loop, Maurice River Bluffs, Batsto Lake Trail, Hacklebarney State Park, High Point – Monument Trail, and The Giant Stairs in Pallisades. No matter what your level of fitness there is an enjoyable scenic hike just for you.

As you can see, there are numerous things to do in New Jersey to take advantage of the fantastic end of summer weather and enjoy the great outdoors… happy travels!

South Jersey Winter Roadway

Despite what the calendar may say, taking a step outside will reassure you that the cold front in New Jersey is still in full swing. In a temperamental climate like this Northeastern one, it’s important to make sure that your car is running, quite literally, like a well-oiled machine; in cold and snowy conditions, overlooking the smallest aspect of routine maintenance could be a huge safety hazard. Here are a few cold-weather auto tips:

First and foremost, it’s important to check your antifreeze. Without enough antifreeze, you could be looking at some corrosion in your radiator, engine, or heater. You can have this tested at a South Jersey Ford service station or repair center, or you can buy a tester at an auto supply store for about $5. In any case, it’s important to make sure you’ve got a 50/50 mixture of water and antifreeze in your radiator.

Then, of course, keep your tires in check. This is also good advice for anyone looking for new and used Ford vehicles for sale in South New Jersey during the winter months – look at the tires! Tires that have been consistently rotated and that have a decent amount of tread on them are crucial for navigating the roads in wet or icy conditions. Without enough tread, you won’t be able to get traction and you’ll be much more likely to get into an accident.

Make sure that your windshield wipers are replaced regularly as well. Ice and snow take a toll on wipers, so you may need to do this more frequently in the winter. The last thing you want is to be unable to brush away snow and rain from your windshield, causing it to freeze and making it extremely difficult to see.

Aside from these three main cold weather maintenance items, make sure that you’re getting regular oil changes, cleaning your battery posts (no one wants to hear the dreaded sound of a failing starter in the midst of winter), and make sure your brakes are in good condition. By doing so you will be able to keep your Ford on the road in good working order, and avoid getting stuck out in the cold.

Gentilini Ford has been an integral part of the South Jersey community for 65 years. We pride ourselves on providing an exceptional experience of both sales and service in the transportation industry. The services we provide are a vital part of keeping our customers vehicles as a safe and reliable mode of transportation.

The COVID-19 virus has disrupted many of our customers and employees lives recently, but we recognize that there is still an important need for us to remain open and available at this time. Many of our customers are still actively in need of their vehicles, such as for caring for a loved one, going to the grocery store or anyone in the medical, police, fire or EMT professions. These may include your personal vehicle or municipally owned vehicles, such as police vehicles and ambulances.

We plan to continue our normal operating hours and also to adhere to Governor Murphy’s Executive Order regarding aggressive social distancing. We are taking extra precautions by removing magazines from our waiting areas, wiping down high touch areas daily and having hand sanitizer available around our stores.

We encourage you to take advantage of some of the many offers that have come about due to this outbreak. We can now offer up to 120 days deferred payment to well qualified buyers on most new vehicles and most transactions can be handled online or from our Gentilini Motors Mobile App right from the comfort of your home. We have a superior rewards program for any amount spent in parts and service and we will work with you if are unable to visit us in person or are just uncomfortable doing so. Let us know so we can offer you alternative means to continue doing business together.

We are thankful that we are in such a great community that has supported us over such a long period of time. As South Jersey’s Ford Dealer of choice, we will continue to strive to do the best for our customers and know that we will get through this critical time together.
